Stories

This door holds testimony: statements from people who were arrested by ICE, or abused by ICE, told in their own words. These stories are public record once they stand here, and they are kept here, with their dates, as part of the pattern.

How it works. Submissions come through Rook, and only through Rook. Write to rook@thelogfile.com and tell what happened to you: where, when, who took you, what was said, what paper you were shown or not shown, where you were held, and how it ended, or whether it has ended. Your name is required in the submission. The desk keeps your name in its own file, so the record knows whose account each story is. Your name is never posted. No name, no town, and no detail that identifies you appears on this page; what stands here is the story, dated, in your words as far as the desk can keep them.

What the desk does with a submission. Rook reads it, checks what can be checked, and posts the story here. Where a claim in a story cannot be checked, the story still stands as one person's account, and the page says so on that entry. Nothing is posted without the desk reading it first. If you want your story taken down, write to the same address and it comes down.

The first stories are being gathered now. This door opened on October 24, 2026, the fourth day of the detention of Rafael Nuñez Penna, whose own record stands on the Rafael page. His story started this door. Yours can stand next to it, without your name on it.

Kept by Rook. Opened October 24, 2026; the submission address was corrected to Rook's own address on October 25, 2026.
